If you have FOUND an animal in an area covered by the Montreal SPCA, please bring the animal to our shelter as soon as possible as their owner will most certainly look for them. We are located at 5215 Jean-Talon Ouest and our reception area is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you cannot organize transportation please call our front desk so that a patroller may pick up the animal. If you have LOST an animal in an area covered by the Montreal SPCA, please take the following steps as soon as possible: 1.Visit our shelter early and often. We operate on a limited budget and simply do not have the staff and volunteers to check the stray section for callers. In addition, tags may be lost and unless your animal is properly microchipped, you and you alone can 100% accurately identify whether an animal in our stray section is in fact your pet. We must therefore ask that you make it your personal responsibility to visit our facilities and look for your lost pet. 2.Regularly check the online list of animals currently in our stray section. 3.Print flyers with a description of your animal to distribute to your neighbours and post in your neighbourhood. Speak with your neighbours and any other people who could be of help. Maybe they have seen or will see your pet. Search actively in your neighbourhood. A fearful cat is more likely to respond to your voice when things are calm and quiet, at dawn for instance Areas served by the Montreal SPCA: Please note: Animals from all municipalities will be kept in our stray section for 3-5 days before being evaluated for adoption. Animals from Ville St. Laurent remain in the stray section for 5-7 days.
